Essential, Planned Power Outage at HDMH on February 26

We are connecting the under-construction MRI Suite to the power system at Huntsville District Memorial Hospital (HDMH). To do this, we are shutting down the emergency back-up power system for four (4) hours on Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at 8 p.m.

During this outage window, HDMH will have limited capacity including the following changes to service:

  • The Emergency Dept. will provide emergent care only; patients will be stabilized and transferred as necessary
  • Ambulances will bypass HDMH where safe to do so
  • No scheduled surgeries, planned obstetrical deliveries, outpatient tests, clinics or treatments
  • Lighting and heating will be impacted, and elevators will not operate.
