Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary

The Huntsville Hospital Auxiliary is recruiting adult volunteers interested in making a difference in your hospital. Do you have 3 or more hours a month to spend serving in the hospital gift shop “Branches” selling such items as food, sundries, clothing and gifts?

There are numerous shifts available as follows: Monday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 1:00 to 4:00 p.m.

During the winter months, the weekday shifts are shortened by a ½ hour to run from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and 12:30 to 3:00 p.m.

Requirements

Being a volunteer requires us to ensure that your safety and the safety of those visiting or staying in the hospital are being met.  You will need:  a vulnerable persons sector police check, immunizations required for volunteering, character references, orientation to the role which includes learning the requirements for all shifts, willingness to commit to a minimum of 6 months and an Auxiliary annual membership fee of $5.00 which includes a vest.  There is also a mandatory 3½ hour training given by our hospital Corporate Education Coordinator.

Working in the gift shop is a rewarding experience where you will meet a variety of people from patients, staff, visitors and other members of your community who volunteer and work here.  You will have an opportunity to make a difference.
