Patient Access to Imaging Records via PocketHealth

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) has partnered with PocketHealth© to empower patients to use technology for convenient, secure and simple web access to view and share their imaging records from any device, anywhere.

In line with MAHC’s strategic goals of innovation and technology, integrating PocketHealth’s secure cloud platform for all diagnostic imaging enables faster access to imaging records for patients and their care providers, and aligns with a sustainable future by adopting a zero-CD approach for imaging record sharing.

“Historically, patients would have to order and pick up a compact disc from MAHC’s sites every time they wanted to review new exams with a physician, or wanted a copy for their own personal records, and each CD request takes time to process by staff,” explains CEO Natalie Bubela. “A common-sense replacement for compact discs in the digital age, launching PocketHealth at MAHC is an opportunity to help patients and others within their circle of care have access to their imaging records while reducing the time and cost burden of CD copies.”

MAHC prides itself on providing rapid access to accurate imaging reports and always strives to be more efficient and patient centred in the services we provide. Referring physicians often require the images themselves and with PocketHealth, they can now receive imaging and reports electronically quickly.

“PocketHealth empowers patients by providing them with easy access to their own health data and better supports the delivery of imaging and reports to their physicians without a trip to the hospital,” adds Bubela.

“Patients can enroll for personal access to their imaging records by visiting www.pocket.health/MAHC for a $5 fee at the time of enrolment, which includes permanent access to all previous digital imaging as well as any new exams in the subsequent two weeks. Patients can access their future imaging records anytime for additional $5 fees.

MAHC is pleased to join over 500 other hospitals, clinics and mobile imaging sites across North America that has deployed the PocketHealth platform for their patients.
