MAHC Unveils Forward-Looking Strategic Plan
As part of Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare’s (MAHC) Annual General Meeting a new strategic plan was unveiled, continuing along a path that builds on the organization’s strengths and embraces future opportunities.
“MAHC’s Strategic Plan serves as a forward-looking plan of action and a roadmap for today and tomorrow to help us achieve better health for everyone we serve,” says Board Chair Phil Matthews. “Through extensive engagement with hundreds of people, the plan reflects the voices of patients, family members, the community and the people at MAHC who told us what matters most to them about health care. Thank you to all stakeholders who participated in focus groups, one-on-one interviews and an online survey.”
The plan is posted on the MAHC website, and sets forth a new Mission and Vision for the organization, and reaffirms our five values.
Our Mission, “Working together to provide outstanding integrated health care to our communities, delivering best patient outcomes with exemplary standards and compassion” defines what is ours to do with and for our stakeholders and represents what we will accomplish to make our Vision a reality.
Our Vision, “As a trusted partner, we strive to improve the delivery of health care to our communities and to be known as an outstanding place to work, learn and live and be cared for” empowers us to give patients and families the best experience as a leading health provider in the community.
Our five Values continue to remind us that we all have ‘A ROLE’ to play in furthering our Mission and achieving our Vision. Our Values of Accountability; Respect; Optimism; Leadership; Engagement are further described with the behaviours that underpin how we will embody and champion our Values.
“Our focus will be on five strategic themes – Quality Care and Safety; Partnerships and Collaboration; Sustainable Future; People; Innovation and Technology that will drive us towards our Vision,” adds CEO Natalie Bubela. “To implement our strategic direction and its many components including capital redevelopment, operational priorities will be developed to help us achieve our Vision.”
“As we adapt to the changing landscape of health care in Ontario, the Board of Directors is proud of where we have come from, and is excited to work together with our partners to provide outstanding integrated health care to our communities, delivering best patient outcomes with exemplary standards and compassion,” says Matthews.
