Housing for Healthcare
Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare (MAHC) has enhanced its Housing for Healthcare program through a partnership with MedsHousing.com; a robust platform, expertly designed to connect landlords and tenants working in healthcare. MedsHousing.com provides landlords with the flexibility to directly manage and/or change descriptions in their listings, photos, calendar availability and rental rates, while providing prospective tenants streamlined searching to match their unique needs and specific rental criteria.
History
In October 2022, MAHC launched Housing for Healthcare with the goal to help staff find affordable local housing that meets their needs in Muskoka. The initial campaign attracted enormous community response through the fall and winter, and more than a dozen hospital staff successfully found housing. The success of the campaign also exposed opportunities for improvements and adjustments to enhance the experience for both landlords and prospective tenants while also helping health care partners like the area family health teams and the Northern Ontario School of Medicine (NOSM) University meet their goals of connecting healthcare workers with housing needs.
In June 2023, a partnership with MedsHousing.com was formed to help landlords and health care tenants connect directly with each other, enabling MAHC to focus on ensuring the best healthcare for our communities. Initial communication was shared with those participating in the Housing for Healthcare program.

It is strongly encouraged that you use a professional email address (from your organization or school) as this helps identify to landlords your professional association. If you are a MAHC employee, or prospective employee, please be sure to select your hospital affiliation as well.
Registering for a tenant account is free and easy to use – you can search for accommodations based on location and know that the landlord is awaiting a call from a healthcare professional.
Please note: MAHC does not screen private landlord listings. Tenants are strongly encouraged to do due diligence when researching rental units. Tips on verifying landlords can be found under the FAQs for Tenants on MedsHousing.com.

Located within a 10-minute drive to either HDMH or SMMH
-
Furnished (move-in ready for short-term rentals)/unfurnished (long-term rentals)

Pricing will vary based on unique property attributes. While a suggest price for a specific property isn’t feasible, the greatest attraction will be for properties within the $1,500 to $2,000 range.
Don’t forget to review the local Tenant Want Ads.
With a MedsGold listing, you have exclusive access to Tenant Want Ads. Tenants are able to post an ad for free, and as a landlord, you can respond directly to their ad.
