Services

Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare provides emergency health care services and inpatient care at two hospital sites - the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site in Bracebridge.  There are outpatient clinics on both sites, as well as outpatient services available at the Almaguin Highlands Health Centre in Burk's Falls.

Our excellent staff provides care to people who live and work in our community.  We also provide essential health care services to the many vacationers and cottagers who visit the area.

Refer to this section of our website for information on our programs and services; how to access them; and special instructions.  We have also included important information on many of the services that support health care such as Chaplains, and Food and Nutrition Services. These services play an important role in the recovery of our patients.

Inpatient Hospital Care

Both the Huntsville District Memorial Hospital Site and the South Muskoka Memorial Hospital Site provide inpatient hospital care.  We diagnose and care for patients experiencing respiratory conditions, strokes, gastroenterology (digestive) conditions, and heart attacks.  As well, we have a busy obstetrics service called Family Centered Care. Teams of health care professionals provide individual care, while communicating and interacting regularly with family members and loved ones.

Many people on the health care team contribute to recovery.  These include: internists, physicians, registered nurses, registered practical nurses, nurse practitioners, patient care flow navigators, dieticians, pharmacists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, transitional care coordinators, social workers, respiratory therapists, a speech language pathologist, a chaplain, unit clerks and volunteers.  The team's goal is to provide safe, excellent health care to assist in recovery, and a smooth transition to home or the community.

Outpatient Services

Recovery continues through many outpatient services and clinics.  These outpatient services also contribute to the ongoing health and well-being of our communities through education about health prevention and management.
