Become a Community Representative

The Board of Directors from time to time identify representatives from the community, who due to the relevance of their expertise in a particular area, and interest in making a volunteer commitment to MAHC, could make a valuable contribution to the work of the Board as a non-director committee member.

Standing Committees that may consider Non-Director members include:
  - Resources & Audit Committee
  - Strategic Planning Committee
  - Quality & Patient Safety Committee
  - Governance Committee

Appointments are for a period of one year and candidates are requested to make the following commitments:

  1. regularly commit 3-5 hours monthly to prepare for and attend Committee meetings. (Meeting schedules vary and are provided in advance)
  2. with notice, attend additional meetings when required.
  3. be committed to furthering the Mission, Vision and Values of Muskoka Algonquin Healthcare.
  4. act honestly, in good faith and in the best interests of the Corporation and in so doing, support the Corporation in fulfilling its mission and discharging its accountabilities.
  5. offer constructive contributions to Committee discussions.
  6. respect the views of other members of the Committee and the role of the Chair.
  7. meet eligibility requirements.
