2014-15 Budget

Fiscal year 2014-15 marked Year 3 of Health System Funding Reform.  Given inflationary increases in labour and utilities and a 0% increase in base funding from the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, MAHC anticipated a funding gap of $2.4 million for the fiscal year beginning April 1, 2014.  As well, difficulty meeting Quality Based Procedure volumes in 2013-14 impacted the projected revenues for the 2014-15 year.

MAHC worked closely with the North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network and Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care staff to advocate for additional financial support in order to balance the budget by fiscal year-end.

In March 2015, the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, through the North Simcoe Muskoka Local Health Integration Network provided MAHC with $1.5 million in one-time hospital funding for fiscal year ending March 31, 2015.  For more information, please review our media release.
